Bill Minor, IBM Toronto Lab, is focused on aspects of data management in the DB2 LUW Kernel. His current working projects include enhancements in object storage management and concurrency controls. Bill has a BSc degree from the University of Waterloo as well as MSc and Ph.D. degrees from McMaster University (Theoretical Physics). Bill began his IBM career with the DB2 LUW Customer Advanced Support group. Since 2000, his DB2 development career has been based in data management. Some of the features he has contributed to include: object reorganization, locking and concurrency controls, larger RIDs, partitioned tables and compression. Bill enjoys a good hockey game, whether watching or playing. He also likes to spend time trying to figure out how to play the guitar.
